What the data you record is used for

Your recordings teach machines to understand and perform physical work. This page explains what Hub collects, what it strips before use, and who uses it.

What Hub collects

One thing only: egocentric, first-person video of real tasks done by real people, at home or at work, with the phone's motion sensors. Hub collects no other kind of contributor work or data.

What is stripped before any use

Personal data is stripped and anonymized before recordings are used or delivered: your name, e-mail, PIX key, bank account, tax id and the rest of your account data never travel with the video. Payment and identity-verification data stay only in Hub's systems and its providers (Dots for payouts, Didit for identity verification) and are never part of any dataset.

That is why the recording standards ask you not to film other people's faces, children, documents or screens with personal data: what is never recorded never needs removing.

What the data is used for

AI can write millions of lines of code, but it still can't fold a shirt. Every hour you record teaches machines the part of work that never made it into text: hands, objects, mess, and the order things actually happen in.

  • Training AI and robotics systems to recognize and perform physical tasks: manipulating objects, moving through spaces, understanding sequences of work.
  • Embodied-AI research by Hub and by the clients that license its datasets.
  • Nothing else: the data is not used for advertising, is not sold as personal data and is not used to profile you.

Who uses it

AI labs and robotics companies that license Hub's datasets under contract to train their models. Each approved recording is one example of how a person does a task; together with thousands of others it becomes a machine's training material.

Your rights

  • You grant the usage rights to a recording when you upload it, under the data rights and consent agreement accepted at sign-up.
  • Recordings already delivered in licensed datasets cannot be withdrawn; deleting your account stops future use.
  • You can request access to, correction or deletion of your account data at [email protected].
